About Haistoric
A counterfeit chronicle of histories that almost were.
Haistoric is a satirical broadsheet for alternative history. Readers submit a single "what if" — a divergence, a missed train, a different coronation — and our editorial AI files back a dispatch from the timeline where it happened. Then it's typeset, illustrated, and added to the archive like the press never stopped running.
The publication is part creative writing prompt, part design exercise, part long-running gag. Every dispatch is fictional. Every claim is invented. Nothing on Haistoric is a statement of historical fact, and you should never quote it as one.
How it works
- You file a dispatch — one premise, however small or grand.
- Our editorial AI writes the piece in the voice of an alt-history broadsheet.
- It's typeset, illustrated, and added to the front page.
- Readers vote, the best rise, the rest become archive material.
Editorial principles
- Clearly satirical. The frame is the joke; the writing is the craft.
- Original. Each dispatch is generated from your premise — not lifted from other sites.
- Moderated. Content that targets real, living individuals defamatorily, or that violates our Terms, is removed.
- Transparent about AI. Dispatches are AI-written. We say so on the tin.
